Glass Merchanting

Glass merchanting was the original focus of the business in 1946 and still dominates throughout The Dorset Glass Company Ltd. 70 years' experience guarantees quality glass, as well exceptional working relationships with suppliers. Predominately we use two main suppliers, AGC Glass & Guardian Glass Industries.

We stock and supply a multitude of glass across the country. With top of the range equipment and a fleet of vehicles we have the capability to meet and supply your business's glass needs. Dorset Glass vehicles include: a floatliner, 32 & 24 ton crane lorries, 18 ton glass carriers and a fleet of vans.

Below is a list that details our current stock and the stock sizes available. To further our service we will split stock sheets and no extra charge, making it easier for you to handle and transport. Dorset Glass has the ability to order a vast selection of glass packs so if you need something specific that isn’t list please contact us to discuss it further.

Glass types:

• Laminated Glass (when larger than 0.08mm the effect of UV radiation is reduced by 98%)
  
  
• Acoustic Glass (exactly the same as laminated but thicker layers reduce transmittance of noise)
  
  
• Low-E Glass (low emissivity)
  
  
• Anti-Bandit Glass (stocked in 11.5mm)
  
  
• Greenhouse Glass (610mm x 610mm, 610mm x 457mm, 1422mm x 730mm) 
  
  
• Fire Glass (7mm Pyrobelite, 12mm Pyrobelite, 16mm Pyrobelite, 25mm Pyrobelite)
  
  
• Lead Glass (stocked in 6mm, 9mm, 12mm and 15mm)
  
  
• Clear Glass/Float Glass (from 2mm to 12mm)
  
  
• Low Iron Glass (from 4mm to 15mm)
